Organising Committee
The 4th International Symposium on “Protein Trafficking in Health and Disease” is organized by Graduate Students of the DFG-funded Research Training Group 1459 (GRK1459) ”Sorting and Interactions Between Proteins of Subcellular Compartments”, under the direction on Prof. Thomas Braulke and Dr. Dorthe Labonté.
The GRK1459 consists of scientists from the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf, the Institute of Biochemistry at the University Kiel, and the Bernhard-Nocht-Institute for Tropical Medicine in Hamburg. Research of the GRK1459 focusses on sorting and transport of proteins within the cell. The majority of projects addresses sorting and transport processes under pathological conditions in cells derived from patients, mouse models of human diseases, cells infected by bacteria or parasite cells.
