Public Transport
The easiest way to get to the Hamburg University Main Building is to take public transportation to Dammtor Train Station or to bus stop ‘Dammtor (Messe/CCH)’.

by S-Bahn (urban railway)
The S21 and S31 trains take three minutes (one stop) to get from the Main Station (Hauptbahnhof) to Dammtor Train Station. Furthermore, many trains of the Intercity (IC) railway transportation stop at Dammtor Train Station.

by bus
Take bus line 4, 5, 34 or 109  to bus stop ‘Bf. Dammtor’.

by U-Bahn (underground)
Take line U1 to station ‘Stephansplatz’. From there it’s  a 5-10 minutes walk to the University main building.

On the website of Hamburg’s Integrated Public Transport System you can compose your own individual schedule. There you will also find an overview of all elevators and all boarding aids. Overview of all lines in the rapid transit network can be found here: HVV U/S/A/R network plan

You will find taxis at the Dammtor train station. Prizes for a taxi from the University main building to the airport are about 28.00€.

Due to limited parking, we strongly recommend taking public transportation!
